Health Care Training Services

Overview

LifeStream’s Employment & Training Division has a long history of successfully training candidates for the health care industry. We provide our clients with the confidence, knowledge and foundation of skills to help them become reliable, effective, and productive health care providers.

Headquartered in New Bedford, our Employment & Training Division has more than 20 years of experience successfully preparing and placing people with area companies.

We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and we meet Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) regulations.

We provide training for the following:

  • Nurse Aide Program
  • Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Program
  • CNA/crossover to CHHA
  • CHHA/crossover to CNA
  • CNA re-certification

Academic Guidelines

The three academic components include:

Lecture – The curriculum is based upon state regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. It integrates basic theory, science, and nurse aide skills in preparation for the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation.

Practical Laboratory- Designed to encourage the student to equate the skills to practical application and develop a base of nursing principles.

Clinical – Objectives include:

  • Encourage students to be comfortable in the health care environment
  • Reflect the ideal standards of care
  • Maintain a safe environment

Nurse Aide Training Program

LifeStream’s Nurse Aide and Certified Home Health Aide programs are approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and accredited by the Massachusetts Department of Education.

The program is designed to integrate theory and clinical standards of practice required for state certification.

Students of the dual program receive the following:

  • Certificates for all completed programs
  • State licensure with the Nurse’s Aide Registry
  • Assistance with reciprocity to other states
  • Uniforms and shoes
  • Graduation pins
  • Support services for job retention and placement
  • Hands-on instruction in DPH-approved nursing homes, hospital settings, or home care

Additional certification with this course includes:

  • Alzheimer’s
  • Health care provider CPR
  • Basic First Aid
